AffiniPay for Associations Continues to Innovate for Associations Professionals at 2021 ASAE Annual Meeting

The ASAE Annual Meeting may have looked different from previous years, but it was still an engaging and valuable experience—especially since earlier this year, ASAE announced AffiniPay as a new event partner as part of ASAE’s Alliance Partnership Program.

The AffiniPay team truly enjoyed speaking with attendees and learning from others within our association community at the 2021 ASAE Virtual Annual Meeting.

Here’s our recap from the event.

The Impact of COVID-19

In 2020, the ASAE Annual Meeting had the highest registration number in the 100-year history of the event. This year, ASAE held their first-ever hybrid virtual event with over 3,200 attendees.

According to the 2020 ASAE Association Impact & Policy Report, nearly two in five (37.5 percent) organizations suspended or deferred salary increases, one quarter (24 percent) of organizations implemented hiring freezes, and 5.5 percent of associations organizations had permanent staff layoffs.

With the decrease in number of staff that associations and nonprofit organizations saw in 2020, increasing efficiency in payment processing was extremely important.

Connecting with Current (and Prospective) Members

Over the past year, AffiniPay has continued to enhance our core platform, recognizing that many organizations are dealing with a smaller staff. We were really excited to show both current and prospective customers at the 2021 ASAE Virtual Annual Meeting all the updates that we’ve made to help them work more efficiently, thus saving time.

In particular, we enjoyed sharing the upgrades to our payments platform that were designed to help their association processes run more efficiently, including:

  • Automated reconciliation process
  • Easier one click checkout options for members
  • Lowered PCI liability

Lastly, we appreciated the opportunity to share some of our bigger announcements from the last 12 months, such as the launch of account updater, new mobile payment options, continued integrations, new CEO appointment, and AffiniPay board member assignments.
